One of the most overrated thoughts that sports analysts usually have is — regardless of the sport — to win a championship you have to make some big mid-season trade.
While I feel it is always good, I don’t think that every championship team needs to make a mid-season deal.
The defending World Series Champion San Francisco Giants didn’t make a big move last year, they picked up Cody Ross off the waiver wire, but that is by no means a “big move."
So what does this bring me to? Well, I watched patiently this year to see if the Braves would make one of those “big moves”. And when I say patiently, I mean anxiously watching the bottom line on ESPN daily to see if the Braves would get a big name player.
