TRACK: Ernest jumps to seventh at state

Going into state, coach Matt Sorrells said earning another medal would be a great accomplishment for Ernest, who finished fourth at state as a freshman.

With two years remaining in her high school career, Ernest will look to return to Albany next spring and earn another medal, possibly moving up in the final standings.

“She’s worked hard all season and has set a tone for what we want our track program to be,” Sorrells said. “All of the coaches are proud of what she has accomplished the past two seasons.”
