Baseball: Four local players make all 8-AA South first team

FOUR baseball players from local high schools were recently named to the Region 8-AA South all-subregion first team.

Jefferson’s Drew Carson (second base) and Max Ford (short stop) were both first-team selections, while Jackson County’s Tony Holton (outfield) and Austin Robinson (utility) made the first team as well.

Meanwhile, Jesse Tallent earned all-region honorable mention honors at third base for Jefferson, and Trey Sorrells (catcher), Andy Williams (third base) and Matt Bridgeman (pitcher) were honorable mention selections for Jackson County.

Drew Carson - Jefferson, 2B
Hunter Blackmon - Elbert Co., 3B
Max Ford - Jefferson, SS
Carson Moon - Elbert County, C
Tony Holton - Jackson Co., OF
Jake Gray - Hart County, OF
Daniel Baker - Hart County, OF
Austin Robinson - Jackson Co. UT
Thad Glenn - North Oconee, DH
Landon Beck - Hart County, P
Trenton Allen - Elbert County, P
Aaron Bentley - North Oconee, P
Craig Neal - Oglethorpe Co., P
