Girls’ track season ends at region

While the Madison County girls will not be advancing to the state meet in Albany this season, the Lady Red Raiders did have several strong performances at the region meet that only missed breaking into the qualifying rounds by seconds in some cases.

In the distance runs, Maura Clifton ran the 1600m for 15th place in 6:32.81 and the 3200m for 16th place in 15:10.85. Ashley Herring ran the 1600m for 21st place in 8:45.85.

Airi Hosaka ran the prelims in 100m dash in 14.14 and the 200m dash prelims in 29.82.

Brikkel Rucker ran the 100m prelim in 14.66 and in the prelim for the 200m dash in 31.44.

Kelsey Vaughn finished the 400m prelim in 1:10.30 and the 800m run prelim in 2:57.89.

Kelly Chandler ran the 800m prelim in 3:13.76.

Taylor Garrison finished the 100m hurdles prelims in 21.50, and the 300m hurdles in 1:04.11.

Mylane Rutledge ran the 300m hurdles in 58.37.

In the shot put, Diamond Jennings finished 15th at 27’4” and teammate Chelsea Ford took 18th at 25’9”. Ford also took 19th in the discus at 62’ and Savannah Roberts took 18th in discus at 62’09”.
