Apalachee High School sophomore Shelby Hanna went toe-to-toe with the top golfers in the state Monday in Columbus.
Hanna completed the course at Columbus Country Club with a round of 95.
“It is a very tough course,” said AHS coach Kevin Morris. “She played well for the first 13 holes and then had to deal with some adversity. Still, it was a good experience for her and we hope to do it again next year.”
Hanna earned the right to compete at state after being the low medalist at region among schools not in the top two. The top two teams from region automatically qualify for state. AHS was third but Hanna was the low medalist among non-qualifying teams.
