The East Jackson baseball Eagles closed out their 2011 campaign last week with a win over in-county rival Jackson County. They fell to the Patriots of Oglethorpe County in their season finale.
The Eagles ended the year 5-17 in the region and 6-18 overall.
It was a slight improvement over 2010 when they went 4-16 in the region and 6-20 overall.
East Jackson’s Sam Williamson crosses the plate as Jackson County’s catcher loses the ball. Williamson would go on to record the win from the mound as well, as the Eagles topped the Panthers 12-5 last week. It marked the first victory for East Jackson over their in-county rivals in baseball in school history. Photo by Ben Munro
