JACKSON COUNTY wrapped up its boys’ track season with a ninth-place showing at region with 21.5 points. No Panthers qualified for state, but Jackson County did have some impressive finishes – most notably by Dustin Scott and Jarvis Shaw.

Scott highlighted the Panthers’ first day at the region meet (Friday) with a third-place finish in the pole vault (12-00). He also took sixth in the triple jump (41-0.35). Scott then placed eighth in the 100 meters (11.77 seconds) on day two of the meet (Monday).

Shaw placed fifth in the long jump on Friday (20-1.00) and finished fourth in the 400 meters (51.85 seconds) Monday.
Others adding points for the Panthers were Cole Meaders (sixth, 11-06.00) and Layson Giles (eighth, high jump, 5-06.00).
