Golf Tigers Take 3rd, 6th At Region

The Commerce golf teams wrapped up their seasons with a trip to Highland Walk for region competition last week.

The girls finished third, while the boys came in sixth.

The girls shot a 234. They trailed region champ Hebron Christian (176) and second place Athens Academy (219).

Emmie Burley was low scorer for the Lady Tigers with a 116. She was followed by Haley Chestnut (118), Ann Drinkard (131) and Rebekah Lang (135). Only the first two scores counted.

The boys shot 390, trailing region champ Riverside (331), Athens Academy (332), Hebron Christian (347), George Walton Academy (353) and Social Circle (384), while beating out Lakeview Academy (396), Towns County (403), Prince Avenue (412) and Athens Christian (422).

Austin Patterson led the Tigers with an 83. He was followed by Jonathan Book (97), Dylan Young (100), Dalton Dean (110), Brandon Romans (124) and Levi Brown (144). Only the four lowest totals counted toward the team score.
