Six Tigers will head for the Class A state track meet on May 5 at Jefferson after Commerce had a strong showing in the boys’ region meet at Athens Academy over the weekend.
Commerce placed third overall with 93 points. The Tigers trailed region champion Athens Christian (220) and Athens Academy (115), while beating out Riverside (74), Tallulah Falls (53), George Walton (31), Social Circle (23) and Prince Avenue (14).
Commerce also had two region champions, with Terrick Ramsey taking first in the 100 meters and Khyrie Harris winning in the 110-meter hurdles.
