BASEBALL: Bulldoggs defeat Wildcats

The Winder-Barrow High School baseball team closed out the regular season with another convincing victory Wednesday afternoon.

The Diamond Doggs defeated Apalachee 15-3 in five innings to improve to 8-5 overall and 14-1 in Region 8-AAAA. Travis Demeritte improved to 4-0 earning the win in relief. Demeritte was also 3-for-4 at the plate with four runs batted in.

Dyan Ivey had two hits and three RBI for WBHS while Ryan Brown and Dalton Carter also contributed offensively.

Angel Colon had a three-run homer for Apalachee, which completes the regular season 8-14 overall and 5-10 against region foes.

It was the fifth win in a row for the Bulldoggs as well as the fifth consecutive mercy rule victory. WBHS has earned 11 mercy-rule wins this spring.
