Tigers Top Prince Avenue

The Commerce golf teams wrapped up their regular season last week, as they faced Prince Avenue and Social Circle at Highland Walk last Thursday.

It proved to be the closest tri-match of the year for the Tigers, as they finished second with a 202. Social Circle came out the winner (197) with Prince Avenue placing third (197).

Austin Patterson led Commerce with a 49.

The girls also played, shooting a 103 for the day. Prince Avenue had only one player in that match. Haley Chestnut led the way for the Lady Tigers with a 54.

“The girls are getting better and I am looking forward to how both teams will perform at region,” said coach Josh Shoemaker. “This was a great opportunity to play the course where region will be held.”

Region play was slated to get underway Tuesday at Highland Walk. Results were unavailable at press time.
