don't blame the team, they're probably wore out from running and not improving basics - just saying
I'm dumb enough to count the number of errors a team has and then watch a practice where more time is spent on running than basic fundamentals
I'm dumb enough to know that the majority of time during a season should be spent on the game not conditioning- this is off season work.
I have talked to all the players - honestly if you are hearing all this praise about Goodwin it is not from the 14 players I have talked to (not pressured into saying something)
BTW: my resume should support a claim to a little criticism. I played on 2 state championship teams in AAA. A real team not like the Goodwin (braves)imaginary team that he tells people about and that he was cut because he got in a disagreement with Chipper Jones - LOL
The result 0-11.
A role model for young children he's not!
Their gonna make this fool the high school AD? PS. Love the coverage on the new HS football coach. Back to the dark ages & Abyss
If you are hearing all the good comments from the kids about this coach they must feel pressured to give you this info.
I do agree that parents need to stay out of the dugout and stop the negative comments during a game. This doesn't solve a thing. But don't think for a scond that D. Goodwin is the baseball GURU of Banks County that he comments about.
The responses above clearly show why Banks County will never rise to a dominant power in any sport, with maybe the exception of wrestling.
Due to the fact of social politics & parental muddling. If little Johnny has skills Play him at that position he is best suited for. REGARDLESS OF WHO THEIR PARENTS ARE, only then will the best talent be fielded in all sports with no regards to social status either in the SCHOOL SYSTEM or COMMUNITY. FYI The coaches son was one of the better players on the team and deserved to play! The same can't be said for all sports in Banks County. Time to change and let a Tradition Begin. Provided they can finish what they start! Speaking of that hows the equipment shed at the high school coming along. Is it finished or has it rotted to the ground yet?
Noll was 1-13,in 69 @ Pittsburgh & Walsh was 2-14 @ SF. in 79. So they all at least won one.
My point was this he was not the head coach.
He was an assistant. (LOL)
Felt bad for the MS. head coach who either had to contend with him in the dugout or HOVERING right outside the fence.
As long as he kept his composure. Which by the time the team was done 3 runs. He was seen ranting JC. behind the dugout pacing like a caged animal.
Not the role model I want presented to my child to emulate! JMHO
post- parents are embarrassing their child by making a scene and being negative. You go to other winning programs and the parents support the coaches even if they don't agree with them and everyone claps for all players. I know that BC can become a winning team but it has to start with the mindset of players and parents and we have to support all our coaches. They do love what they do and they care about the boys. If they didn't they would be at home with their own families. So next time you decide to be negative or have a complaint look at yourself first and think about what you can do to help your child and the program! We will all benefit from it.
this is the point exactly, there are always people that will question all your decisions. BUT put the facts on the table. Practice should be used to learn and improve, hence the term practice. Practice what you will do when performing on the field. Hitting, throwing, fielding and game situation training. Is this the core of each baseball practice this year? I wish it were, then the majority of these negative post would have never been written.
BTW: you are not the only person that was a college athlete that has an opinion.
WE still have time to be that winning team year after year - I wish the coaches and the players all the best. Keep your chin up and focus on your goals not the character of the coach. Best Wishes!
