The East Jackson Eagles were hoping to put an end to the slide they’ve been in since defeating Oglethorpe County back on April 1.
But it didn’t come last week, as the Eagles fell to North Oconee before dropping a Monday game to Jefferson.
That leaves East Jackson with just two more regular season games to try to get back into the win column.
The Eagles will travel to Jefferson to face Jackson County today (Wednesday).
The Panthers come into the game looking to snap their own two-game losing streak after falling Monday to North Oconee 11-2. Jackson County is 7-9 in the region, currently tied for fourth with Jefferson.
The Eagles will close out their season by facing the 13-3 Elbert County Blue Devils at 5:55 on Friday in Elberton. North Oconee
Coming off of a 20-10 shellacking by Hart County in the previous game, the Eagles were hoping for a change in fortune when they faced North Oconee Friday.
North Oconee had beaten the Eagles 13-0 March 7 and 16-12 on March 23.
The results were little better, as the Eagles suffered a 9-4 loss.
Andy Cotton recorded the loss from the mound.
Jefferson
On Monday, the Eagles played host to the Dragons in their final home game.

The Dragons scored the winning run in the top of the seventh to take the 3-2 victory.
Josh Chumley recorded the loss, giving up seven hits and three runs while striking out eight in seven innings.
Caleb Hardy led at the plate, going 2-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Austin Johnson and Ethan Lyons each had a hit.
