Softball:
September 2 – The Lady Dragons have been on a roll recently winning two of the past three games.
Jefferson ladies faced their first region opponent, Banks County at Homer. Jefferson took control in the third to hold off the Lady Leopards 7-2 for the Lady Dragon’s first region win. Kara Perry was the winning pitcher for the team only allowing two runs out of 27 batters.
September 3 – Jefferson faced Wesleyan Wednesday afternoon as part of the Buford Invitational Tournament. The Lady Dragons took an early lead and were holding Wesleyan until the fourth when Lady Wolves tied the ball game. Jefferson got back on top in the fifth but could not hold off Wesleyan in the bottom of the inning. Wesleyan took the victory 4-2. Jefferson turned around to sweep quad-A Chestatee later on Wednesday. In a four inning short game, the Lady Dragons run ruled the Lady War Eagles 12-0.
September 6 – The Lady Dragons went 1-3 at the Buford Invitational. The Lady Dragons fell to quad-A Forsyth Central 11-0, but rebounded to defeat AAA Chestatee 7-5. The Lady Dragons continued in the tourney to face Union County (0-9) and Buford (0-8) but were swept by both teams.
Volleyball:
August 28 – The Lady Dragons played Athens Christian in two intense games. Jefferson held onto to win game one 30-28 over the Eagles, and again in game two to win 25-23. Jefferson chalked up the second region win of the season. Lady Dragon Stephanie Fincher led with six kills followed by Karla Carreno with four and Lexi Peoples with three. Erin Camp made a challenge for the Eagles with five aces. Carreno also made nine assists.
September 2 – Jefferson faced Lakeview Academy and Gainesville on Tuesday. Despite falling to Lakeview 17-25 in both games, the ladies rebounded to face AAA Gainesville in a three game match. Game one, narrowly went to the Red Elephants 26-24. In game two and three, Jefferson shown, winning 25-15 and 25-18.
September 4 – The Lady Dragons faced Buford and West Hall at West Hall, where Jefferson fell 0-2 to both teams. The Lady Dragons went 20-25 and 17-25 against Buford. Against the AAA West Hall, Jefferson went 15-25 and 17-25.
