Eagles Host Elbert County

After a week that saw them fall to North Oconee and Jefferson, the East Jackson baseball Eagles were slated to face Jackson County on Tuesday in a game postponed from Monday due to rain.

Results were unavailable at press time.

The Eagles were scheduled to host Elbert County Wednesday afternoon at 5:30, weather permitting.

The Blue Devils are 8-2 in the region and 10-3 overall.

North Oconee

On Wednesday, the Eagles traveled to North Oconee to face the Titans for the second time this season, hoping to avenge a 13-0 shellacking on March 7.

Led by a home run off the bat of Sam Williamson, East Jackson’s offense made of show of it, but North Oconee’s offense was even better as the Titans won 16-12.

Josh Chumley recorded the loss on the mound.

Jefferson

On Friday, the Eagles crossed the river to face the Jefferson Dragons.

After winning in their previous matchup 4-3, the Eagle faithful had their eyes on a season sweep.

Things looked good in the top of the first, as East Jackson took a 1-0 lead, but the wheels came off in the bottom of the first, with Jefferson scored six runs. Jefferson added another run in the second to go up 7-1, and East Jackson scored twice in the top of the third as Jefferson won 7-3.
