Golf Eagles Top Banks Co.

Results were mixed last week for East Jackson’s golf teams, with the boys picking up a win over Banks County, while the girls lost to Banks County and both teams fell to Jefferson and Commerce.

Both teams will return to action on today (Wednesday) against Dawson County and Oglethorpe County at Double Oaks in their final home match of the season, weather permitting.

Banks County

East Jackson traveled to Banks County to take on the golf Leopards last Tuesday at Scales Creek.

The boys picked up a victory, winning 204-220.

Nathan Crumley led the Eagles, shooting a 47. Nathan Hollis followed with a 48, Justin Akin shot a 54 and Austin Beauchamp carded a 55.

The girls had a rough time of it, falling 75-122. Individual scores were unavailable.

JHS And CHS

Up next was a home stand Wednesday against Jefferson and Commerce at Double Oaks.

The boys came placed third with 205 behind Jefferson at 164 and Commerce with 184.

Austin Beauchamp shot a 47, Nathan Crumley a 48 and Nathan Hollis and Dylan Anderson both shot 55.

The girls also lost to Jefferson and Commerce, shooting a 114 to Jefferson’s 90 and Commerce’s 105.

First-year player Victoria Nixon had shot a 56 to lead the Lady Eagles.
