Soccer squads prepare for tough sub-region slate

Monday night, Madison County hosted Jefferson.

The Red Raiders defeated Jefferson 8-1 after starting flat and allowing the Dragons to score the first goal of the game.

Last week, the Red Raiders only had one game which was an unusually slow week for the team.

The boys defeated Flowery Branch 5-2.

LADY RED RAIDERS
The Lady Red Raiders had good practice weather from the end of last week and leading into Monday’s game with Jefferson.

A couple of nagging injuries were also addressed in the down time as the girls focused on some new tactics.

Despite the extra practice time and strong look in practice, Madison County allowed the first 10 minutes of the game to be dominated by Jefferson.

Jefferson went on to take the win 3-0 over Madison County. The loss to the Lady Dragons follows a shutout 10-0 defeat by Flowery Branch.

The Lady Red Raiders now look to pull out of the losing rut with strong attack against sub-region opponent Apalachee this Friday.
