The Commerce track and field teams came home with a pair of third-place finishes from last week’s meet at East Jackson.
Up next are the county meets for both teams. The girls’ county meet is Tuesday, March 29, at East Jackson beginning at 4 p.m., while the boys’ meet will be held on Wednesday, March 30, at Jefferson beginning at 4 p.m.
At East Jackson, the girls placed third with 30 points to overall winner Gainesville’s 116. East Jackson placed second, while East Hall finished fourth.
The boys scored 53 points. East Jackson won with 92, Riverside placed second and East Hall was fourth.
Placers for the girls included Cameron Hawkins, second, triple jump (30’ 10.5”), fourth, long jump (13’5”); Lily Mathers, second, 300 hurdles (54.59), third, high jump (4’8”), fourth, 100 meter hurdles (18.4); Teriny Moon, fourth, discus (63’4”); and Hannah Crumley, fifth, 100 meters (14.55).
Placers for the boys included Terrick Ramsey, first, long jump (20’), first, 100 meters (11.09); Kyhrie Harris, first, 110-meter hurdles (16.4), fourth, triple jump (37’9”), fourth, 300-meter hurdles (47.27); Jamir Walton, triple jump, (39’10.5”), third, long jump (18’ 10.5”); Micah Eason, third, shot put (42’), fourth, discus (100’); Jamal Browner, fourth, long jump, (18’ 9.75”); Quay Little, fourth, high jump (5’8”), fourth, 100-meters (11.68); Thomas Sweeney, fourth, 110 hurdles (18.02), fifth, 300-meter hurdles (50.02); Christian Hawkins, fifth, 3200 (12:46); and Kyhrie Harris, Quay Little, Jamir Walton, Terrick Ramsey, first, 4x100 (45.53).
