JACKSON COUNTY remains undefeated for the month of March.
Behind three goals from Philip Burzo, the Jackson County boys’ soccer team took care of business against Hart County with a 6-2 road win Friday.
The Panthers (4-2-1) have won four in a row heading into Thursday’s non-region matchup with Chestatee. At 3-0 in Region 8-AA South play, Jackson County remains tied for first in the subregion.
The team returns to subregion action March 22 at home against East Jackson, but the out-of-league game with Chestatee is first.
“We are going to try and get back in shape and see how we do against a good Chestatee squad,” coach Joseph Brubaker said.
Jackson County’s winning streak started with a 5-2 victory over Oglethorpe County March 1 and includes wins over Elbert County, Jefferson and now Hart County.
In the win over the Bulldogs, the Panthers rallied from a 2-1 halftime deficit, scoring five times in the final 40 minutes.
Scoring, in addition to Burzo, were Miguel Guereca who scored two goals and Patrick Ventura who had one.
