Jefferson Gridiron Dragons are diving straight into the region schedule this week after chewing up Commerce last Friday.
This Friday is the Dragons first region AA game, against Dawson County.
“It is the first region game,” said head coach Bill Navas. “After we beat Commerce last year, we turned around and lost the region championship to Athens Academy. So hopefully, this being our first region game our kids will remember that and come out a little more focused.”
The away game will be an opportunity to see how Jefferson will stack up in the AA region. Dawson County is coming off of an opening win over Lumpkin County an AAA school.
“[Dawson] are huge and physical, we are not very big so that will be a challenge for us,” said Navas.
The Dragons had better keep an appetite for Tigers as they travel to Dawsonville.
