Commerce Hosts Woody Gap Thurs.

The Commerce Tigers tennis teams did not start their season out on the note they had hoped for.

Commerce opened against Athens Christian last Tuesday and both the boys and girls came back with 5-0 losses.

From there, the teams were slated to travel to Hebron Christian. The boys were again swept, 5-0. The girls lost as well, 4-1, with their lone victory coming at number two doubles, where seniors Haiden Nunn and Sierra Martinez won 8-6.

Commerce was scheduled to play its home opener on Tuesday, against Towns County. Results were unavailable at press time.

The Commerce netters return to action Thursday, as they host Woody Gap at the Commerce Park and Recreation courts. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
