Lady Tigers Top Social Circle

It was an up and down week for Commerce’s golfers, as both the boys and girls fell to Jefferson before the girls rebounded with a win over Social Circle.

The boys return to action on Thursday as they travel to Jennings Mill to face Oglethorpe County. Both teams play again on March 15, as they host Hebron at Double Oaks.

The Jefferson match was shortened by time. The boys’ match went only six holes due to darkness, with Jefferson winning 118-152.

The girls were a little closer, with the Lady Dragons winning 65-78 in a match cut to just five holes due to loss of light.

On Monday, the Commerce teams traveled to Hard Labor Creek to face Social Circle.

The girls came away with an 84-90 victory.

Haley Chestnut was low for Commerce with a 40, while Emmie Burley posted a 44.

The boys lost 200-213.

Austin Patterson shot a 47 to lead the Tigers. Commerce also took two middle school golfers, Sage Culpepper and Wade McMahan, who shot 47 and a 52 respectively.
