Tennis: JHS boys move to 2-0

JEFFERSON rolled to another shutout win Tuesday with a 5-0 victory over intra-county foe East Jackson.

The Dragons will look to keep their unbeaten record intact Thursday with a home match against North Oconee. Action starts at 4:15 p.m.

Against East Jackson, the Dragons’ top three singles players — Zach Bost, Blair Buffington and Ben Daniel —all cruised to 6-0, 6-0 victories. Brandon Claybo and Jordan Tyler won 6-4, 6-2 at no. 1 doubles and Adrew James and Austin Pratt won 6-3, 6-0 in no. 2 doubles.

Jefferson opened the season with a 5-0 blanking of Hart County Thursday.

Bost and Buffington both won 6-0, 6-1 in singles action, while Daniel prevailed 6-1, 6-1.

The no. 1 doubles tandem of Clabo and Tyler dropped the first set of their match 6-4 before rebounding with 6-1 and 7-6 victories in sets two and three.
The no. 2 doubles team of James and Pratt won easily, 6-2, 6-2.
