Eagle Win Season Opener

The East Jackson Eagles opened their 2011 season with a victory over Cedar Shoals last week.

The Eagles will host region foe Hart County this (Wednesday) afternoon.

The Bulldogs come to town with an early 1-2 record, having won their opener over Franklin County before falling to Stephens County and Madison County last week. The game begins at 5:55.

Cedar Shoals

East Jackson hosted Cedar Shoals in their season opener last Wednesday.

Josh Chumley scored the only run of the game and went 1-for-2 at the plate. That was all it took as Ethan Lyons and Andy Cotton pitched seven scoreless innings to give East Jackson the 1-0 victory.

Jaguars Again

On Saturday, the Eagles faced Cedar Shoals again, this time traveling to Athens.

Things didn’t go as well the second time around. Despite Josh Chumley’s three run homer, the Jags came away with the better outing, winning 7-4.

Chumley led at the plate, going 2-for-3 on the day.
