The Lady Red Raiders are in the region tournament and were ready to take on Flowery Branch Wednesday night. Results from Wednesday's game at Winder-Barrow were unavailable at press time, but going into the game Madison County was confident that a three-peat region title was within grasp.
“In the past we have turned it up defensively in the region tournament, that is what we will have to do again if we expect to win region,” said coach Dan Lampe.
With two wins over Flowery Branch already from the season, the Lady Red Raiders had reason to be confident.
With the winner of the game facing the winner of Loganville versus Habersham to make it into the semis, Madison County as the number two seed, is pretty much a shoe-in to advance well past region in the post-season.
The semis and finals will be played Friday and Saturday at Winder-Barrow.
