Nine Mat Tigers Are State Bound

Nine Commerce grapplers qualified to move on to the State Traditional tournament this weekend at the Gwinnett Arena, while four of the nine won Sectional championships.

Cody Legg (103 lb.), Addison Davis (160 (lb.), Chance McClure (160 lb.) and Serguio Rojas (285 lb.) all won sectional champion titles during the Sectional Tournament at Social Circle over the weekend.

Zach Harmon (215 lb.) recorded a second-place effort to qualify for state competition. Also qualifying was Drew Whitfield (third, 119 lb.), Greyson Cochran (fourth, 135 lb.), Josh Westmoreland (fourth, 130 lb.) and Thomas Sweeney (fourth, 152 lb.).

Three mat Tigers placed well enough to serve as alternates. They were Tyler Reddish (145 lb.), Morgan Flint (171 lb.) and Jacob Harrison (112 lb.).
