Jackson County senior guard Ashley Skelton was released from the hospital this morning after suffering a concussion during the Lady Panthers’ contest with East Jackson Saturday night.
Jackson County coach John Hawley said x-rays and cat scan were both “good.”
Skelton, the Lady Panthers’ leading scorer, was taken away in an ambulance after going down with the injury during Jackson County’s 46-41 loss. The game was delayed 20-30 minutes.
Skelton will follow up with doctors on Monday, according to Hawley.
“I am sure she will be sore and stiff,” Hawley said in a text message.
The coach added that he’s hoping that Skelton “will be back on track by this Friday.”
I am sure you were not at this game and you did not see this player accidental fall during a rebound. I would also like to tell you about a very good basketball game that the players exhibited sportsmanship the entire game by both teams.
The only lesson to be leaned is that you should know the facts before accusing a Coach of letting these girls play football. The other lessons form this game is that the Coach should have ran a zone defense.
