Lady Eagles Host Hart Co. Fri.

Last week’s winter weather wreaked havoc on the local school systems, including the schedule for the East Jackson Lady Eagles.

East Jackson had been scheduled to face Jackson County on Tuesday and Jefferson on Friday, but the icy conditions caused both of those games to be postponed.

The Lady Eagles will now face Jackson County on Jan. 22, while a date for the Jefferson game has yet to be announced.

East Jackson was able to travel to Habersham County on Saturday, where they fell to the Lady Raiders.

Up next is a home stand Friday against Hart County.

The Lady Bulldogs look to rebound from a loss over the weekend to Elbert County. They enter this week 6-9 overall and 1-4 in the region.

Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.

Habersham Central

After seeing the previous weeks’ games postponed due to the winter weather, the Lady Eagles were hoping a trip to Habersham Central would get them warmed up and ready to resume play.

But the Lady Raiders took control early, putting 21 points on the board in the first eight minutes while holding East Jackson to just nine. Habersham led 31-16 at the half

The Lady Raiders put the game out of reach in the third quarter, holding East Jackson scoreless over the eight minute period while adding 11 more points to their tally to make it 42-21. The Lady Eagles would outscore Habersham 5-4 in the fourth quarter, but would get no closer as Habersham Central won 46-26.
