It was a rough start to the New Year for the Lady Eagles of East Jackson, as they fell in games to Elbert County and Banks County last week.
The Lady Eagles hope to see their fortunes turn on Friday, when they travel to Jefferson to face the Dragons at 7 p.m, weather permitting.
Elbert County
Things started off well enough for East Jackson, as they stayed within shouting distance of Elbert County. At the half, East Jackson found itself just six points back.
But in the third quarter, the lady Blue Devils pulled away, making a six-point advantage a 16-point advantage over the next eight minutes. By the end, Elbert County had built a 28-point lead, coming away with the 69-41 victory.
Caroline Hicks led in scoring. Further statistics were unavailable at press time
Banks County
On Friday, the Lady Leopards took the early advantage, pulling out to a 21-13 lead by the end of the first. East Jackson came back to make it a three point difference, 27-24, at the half, but Banks County
pulled away again in the third, making it a 44-30 game, then went on to win 57-45.
