Commerce Wins Area, State Duals Postponed

For the second year in a row, the Commerce mat Tigers came home as the Area Duals champs, having defeated Wesleyan in the finals.

That means they will to the State Duals. That event was originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, but was postponed due to the weather. You can read more about the postponement here.

Commerce started out with a pairing against George Walton, coming away with the 56-21 victory. That was followed by a 48-24 win over Athens Christian, which sent them to the finals to face Wesleyan.

They picked up the win in the finals for the Area title with a 45-24 final score.

Commerce goes to Macon with a 22-2 record.

Going undefeated at the tournament were Josh Westmoreland, Greyson Cochran, Thomas Sweeney, Addison Davis, Chance McClure and Zach Harmon.
