Wall of Fame ceremony now set for Jan. 28

The Winder-Barrow High School Wall of Fame ceremony originally scheduled for this Friday night has been postponed, school athletic director Justin Grant said.

The event will now be held Friday, Jan. 28, Grant said Wednesday morning. A meal and a reception for the inductees and their families will be before the girls basketball contest with the recognition between the varsity games.

Inductees and their area of contribution to WBHS athletics for 2011 will include:

•Lavelle Kinney, football and track and field.

•Rico Mack, football, basketball and track. Mack was also the first WBHS graduate to play in the National Football League.

•Kevin Senior, wrestling and basketball.

•Brittany Threadgill, soccer.

•Katie West, soccer.

•Dr. C.B. Skelton, contributor, including serving as team doctor and helping with construction of W. Clair Harris Stadium. Skelton also had several daughters who played for Winder-Barrow High School.

Nominations are submitted each year and then finalists are chosen for induction in the school’s Wall of Fame.
