Tigers Open New Gym Fri.

The Lady Indians come to town in the midst of a strong early season, having gone 11-1 overall and 2-0 in region competition. Their only loss was in the championship game in the recent Battle of the States tournament where they fell to Gordon Lee on Dec. 30.

Commerce will try to break a 10-game losing streak against Towns County that dates back to Dec. 17, 2004. In their most recent matchup last Feb. 18, the Lady Indians won 54-26.

Tipoff Friday night is scheduled for 7 p.m.

For the Tigers, Friday brings an opportunity to remain undefeated in region play.

Commerce enters the week 2-0 in the region. The Indians are 1-1 in region play, and 2-10 overall.

They enter the week off a three-game losing streak in the Battle of The States tournament.

The Tigers hope to extend their seven-game win streak against Towns County that dates back to Feb. 2, 2007. In their most recent pairing, Commerce defeated the Indians 81-42.

Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

Following Friday’s games, Commerce will host the Jefferson Dragons in their second pairings of the season Saturday night.

Both teams fell to the Dragons back on Dec. 10, with the girls losing 54-19 while the boys fell 74-69.

Tipoff at Commerce Saturday night is scheduled for 6 p.m. for the Lady Tigers, with the Tigers taking to the court at 7:30 p.m.
