CHS Grapplers Head To Amicalola Classic

The Commerce wrestling Tigers entered the Christmas break on a high note after winning the Elbert County Duals last week.

Commerce will take part in its last meet of 2010 this week, as the Tigers travel to Dawson County for the Amicalola Classic Thursday and Friday.

Action is set to get underway at 5 p.m. Thursday.

The Commerce grapplers went 5-0 at Elbert County en route to the win. The opened by beating Berkmar 54-18, then moved on to best host Elbert County 54-24. Next was a win over Winder-Barrow, 60-18, followed by a victory over Hart County, 51-19.

That moved Commerce into the championship round over Flowery Branch, where the mat Tigers came away with a 42-30 win.

Among those winning matches on the day were Jacob Harrison (103 lbs.), Cody Legg (112 lbs.), Nick Henderson (119 lbs.), Drew Whitfield (125 lbs.), Josh Westmoreland (135 lbs.), Greyson Cochran (140 lbs.), Tyler Reddish (145 lbs.), Cole Ledford (152 lbs.), Thomas Sweeney (152 lbs.), Addison Davis (160 lbs.), Morgan Flint (171 lbs.), Chance McClure (189 lbs.), Zach Harmon (215 lbs.) and Serguio Rojas (285 lbs.).
