After helping lead the Apalachee High School football team to another winning season this fall, lineman Shaun Hill and Nate Holton, punter/kicker Guy Hunt and all-purpose athlete Stanley Williams were named first team All-Region for 8-AAAA.
Wildcat head coach Shane Davis announced the recognitions last week.
In addition, senior running back Alex Camp was named second team as was sophomore defensive end Rakim Peters.
Sophomore Zay Henry (running back) and sophomore defensive end Johnny Thompson were named honorable mention All-Region for the 2010 season.
Hill, a University of Tennessee-Chattanooga signee, and Holton helped clear the way for the AHS running backs who compiled plenty of yardage this past season. Williams rushed for 964 yards and nine touchdowns while catching five passes for 103 yards and two additional scores.
Camp rushed for a team-best 1,044 yards and 12 touchdowns while Henry added 839 yards and 10 scores.
Defensively, Peters had 10 tackles for loss while Thompson led the team with five sacks.
For coach David Wagner and Winder-Barrow High School, offensive lineman Asa Thornton, defensive lineman Jody Royal, linebacker Hogan Anderson and defensive back Atrez Gladmon were each named honorable mention All-Region.
