Lady Eagles Face Hancock December 28

The East Jackson Lady Eagles entered the Christmas break on a high note last week after picking up a victory over Oglethorpe County Friday night.

The win left East Jackson 3-6 overall and 0-1 in the region going into the break.

The Lady Eagles will return to the court on Dec. 28 as they host the Wingslinger Holiday Bash tournament at EJCHS. East Jackson will open against Hancock Central beginning at 7 p.m.

The Lady Eagles entered play last week hoping to rebound from back-to-back losses to Hart County and Apalachee.

That’s exactly what occurred, as East Jackson controlled the court all night, holding the Lady Patriots to a mere four points as East Jackson gave Oglethorpe County a 59-4 shellacking.

LaShundra Gresham led the Lady Eagles in scoring with 13 pints and 10 rebounds.

Coach Katie David also pointed to the performance of Madison Wuertley, who stepped up from the JV team after playing against Oglethorpe earlier in the day. Wuertley responded by scoring 10 points in one quarter.
