Column: Long wait comes to an end

One thing I do know is that Armstrong’s players have worked as hard as anyone this offseason. They have attended numerous camps. They have been as dedicated in the weight room as any team you will find. They have dedicated themselves to making the program a winner.

You can’t help but be proud of what these players have done leading up to this point. They have not been afraid to work, work and work some more.

A salute must also go to Armstrong and his coaching staff for leading these young men to this point. The community is rallying around this football program and that has been a tremendous thing to see. I still am amazed at how the stands were packed during the scrimmage two weeks ago. Rest assured the players noticed it and appreciated it.

Let’s do the same this Friday on the road at Washington-Wilkes. Let’s show the home team just how strong the community support in Banks County has become and let’s come back home victors.
