Mat Eagles Travel To Apalachee Sat.

It was a split decision for the Mat Eagles of East Jackson last week, as they fell to Loganville and North Oconee but then had two wrestlers medal in the top four in tournament action at Apalachee.
The Eagles will travel to Loganville for tournament action on Saturday and Sunday.

Last Wednesday, East Jackson came up short in a tri-match at home against Loganville and North Oconee.

The Eagles just missed a win against Loganville, losing by one point. In their other matchup, East Jackson was bested by North Oconee by 14 points.

Up next was a tournament at Apalachee that saw Victor Equiarte medal in the 135 lb. class, going 7-2 in the tournament. Drew Hunter also medaled in the 189 lb. class, going 7-2 as well.

Other wrestlers turning in strong performances included Garrett Lott, who went 5-4 in the 103 lb. class; Jake Tate, 5-4 at 125; Jesse Moore, 5-4 at 215; Parker Wilson, 5-4 at 285; and Zack Hembre, 4-5 at 130.

The Eagles were scheduled to host Banks and Gainesville on Tuesday. Results were unavailable at press time.
