The Madison County Recreation Department held the 17th Annual Christmas in Comer 5K Reindeer Run on Saturday Dec. 4. This year’s run had a record number of participants with 216 runners registering.
“The large number of participants and our great sponsors made this year’s run a huge success,” said organizers. “We would like to say thanks to our sponsors: First Madison Bank, First Citizens Bank, The Medicine Shoppe, Tyler’s Paint and Body Shop, Marketplace, Country Superette, Chicken Express, ARMC, Dasani, Powerade and Jeff Garrison’s screen printing and Embroidery.”
MCRD organizers also thanked the City of Comer for allowing the use of Arnold Park and Brent Zellner of Comer Police Dept. for leading the race in the patrol car.
“We would also like to thank all of our participants for joining us this year, and we would like to extend a special thank you to Comer Elementary School’s Fit Girls and Fit Guys group for participant this year.”
