A trip to the Jackson County Panther Invitational last weekend netted the Madison County wrestlers an eighth place finish out of the 26 teams competing.
“[The] boys did great, finishing in eighth place,” said coach Richie Houston.
“Top to bottom our guys wrestled hard and at a very high level. Several guys beat state placers and state champs over the weekend.”
The highest finish for the Red Raider grapplers was Cody Phillips (130) at second place. The team also had a fourth place finish from Max Nash (125) and two fifth places, Isaac Ruiz (152) and Matt Dove at heavyweight.
