The American Junior Golf Association will hold the Medicus Preseason Junior Series at Chateau Elan on May 24-26.
Mill Creek’s Shawn Yim will be among the local talent competing in the boys’ tournament. Other area golfers include: Anders Albertson, Woodstock; Barrett Binion, Norcross; Mookie DeMoss, Duluth; Will England, Gainesville; Benjamin Lee, Duluth; Ted Moon, Lilburn and Jack Walsh of Lawrenceville.
The girls’ tournament will feature local player Kendall Wright of Suwanee.
The 36-hole tournament will be played at Chateau Elan’s Chateau Course and will feature 96 of the top junior golfers, ages 12-18, from the Metro-Atlanta area and around the country.
The Medicus Preseason Junior at Chateau Elan is one of 81 national junior golf tournaments being held by the AJGA in 2008. Practice rounds will be held Saturday, May 24, while tournament play will begin Sunday, May 25. The tournament concludes Monday, May 26. Admission is free of charge for spectators.
Medicus Golf enters its third year of sponsorship of the AJGA by supporting the Medicus Preseason Series. The Medicus Learning System, a comprehensive series of golf training aids, is dedicated to assisting golfers of all ages.
The American Junior Golf Association is the largest Association of its kind with an annual junior membership (boys and girls ages 12-18) of approximately 5,000 junior golfers from 49 states and 30 foreign countries.
