Locals win 2010 points race at speedways

Over 150 people gathered at Swamp Guinea restaurant on Friday to celebrate Hartwell and Lavonia Speedway’s 2010 points champions.

In a night filled with laughter, food, and reflection over the past season, the top drivers from both the Hartwell and Lavonia racetracks were honored. The following drivers were awarded for their 2010 accomplishments with large trophies, jackets, plaques and many accolades.

Madison County had two local drivers win the point championships in their divisions and three drivers earn top five finishes. Point champions are separated by divisions:

SUPER LATE MODEL
First Brent Dixon, Elberton
Second Keith Freeman, Toccoa
Third Tim King, Toccoa

LIMITED LATE MODEL
First Anthony Craft, Jackson County
Second Dustin Mincey, Hartwell
Third Brandon Haley, Lavonia

First Grant Jordan, Bowman
Second Danny Sanders, Centerville
Third Eric Veal, Bowman

First Chuck Finch, Comer
Second Dean Butler, Elberton
Third Carson Floyd, Elberton
