Cross Country Tigers End Season

The Commerce cross country teams wrapped up their season last Thursday in the 8-A region meet at Athens Academy.

Commerce placed ninth in the nine-team field, with Athens Christian taking the region title.

Jeffery Henderson led the Tigers with a 52nd-place effort out of 66 runners with a time of 23.27.

Other runners included Chase Klugh (23.28), Nick Henderson (24.50), Thomas Sweeney (25.29), Zan Peek (26.57) and Ryan Peek (27.06).

Meanwhile, Sierra Martinez placed 12th in the girls’ JV race with a time of 33.43. In the boys’ JV race, Jake Morris finished 32nd with a 25.55 and Jonathan Leffew finished with a 33.14.
