JHS racks up yardage, points in 49-15 win over EJCHS

Jefferson racked up 477 yards of total offense Friday at Memorial Stadium to hand East Jackson a 49-15 drubbing in the third installment of this rivalry.

With the loss, East Jackson (3-6, 2-4) finishes fifth in Region 8A-AA South and will play the no. 5 seed out of Region 8B-AA next week in the region play-in game to finish out the schedule.

East Jackson trailed 21-0 after a quarter and 35-7 at the half.

Down 28-0 with 8:13 left before intermission, East Jackson got its first and only score of the first half with a 48-yard touchdown pass from Cody Gibbs to a wide-open Brion Youngs.

Gibbs accounted for the Eagles’ only other touchdown, scoring on the ground from five yards out with 1:26 left in the game. C.J. Allen tacked on the two-point conversion.

Great game tonight!! Think maybe we can see some pics of the two stellar kickers Jefferson has? Great job Asher Orr on PAT's and Chandler Schlutow on kickoffs! Y'all never get any face time in the paper but consistently help your team!!

im on east jackson but i agree that was a good game itll be a nicee game to play in three years when the class of 2014 plays that will be a challenging game
