Banks County’s cross-country program honored the 16 seniors on the team during Monday’s home meet. The team responded with the boys continuing to dominate, winning over Madison County, Franklin County, Towns County and Commerce.
The win on Monday makes four consecutive years that the boys have gone undefeated at home. The accomplishment comes on the back of another significant accomplishment marked last Thursday as Banks County hosted Rabun County. The Leopards’ cross-county team had 99 percent of the girls running their best times, followed by the boys’ team with 97 percent running their best times, according to coach Kelly McDuffie.
With only one more meet before the team heads to region, Banks County is looking strong heading into the final stretch. This week, the Leopard runners head north to Habersham on Thursday to compete at 4:30 p.m.
Banks County will graduate 16 seniors from the cross-country teams this season. The senior group was honored before the race on Monday. Justin Poole/staff
