It was not the kind of night the Eagle Nation hoped for as they took on the undefeated Titans of North Oconee, and came away with a 30-0 loss.
The Titans took control about halfway through the first quarter, scoring their first touchdown of the night with just under five minutes left on the clock to move ahead 7-0.
North Oconee would score again with just over a minute and a half left in the quarter, making it 14-0.
The Titans continued to control the gridiron in the second quarter, scoring their third touchdown of the night just under three minutes in to move out to a 21-0 lead.
A pass attempt by North Oconee was foiled by an interception by Jermaine Davis in the end zone, giving the Eagles possession deep in their own territory.
As East Jackson tried to drive their way out, quarterback Cody Gibbs lost control of the ball on the snap, leading to a North Oconee safety, making it a 23-0 game with just under four minutes left in the half.
The Titans would score once more, with just over four and a half minutes left in the third quarter, making it 30-0.
The Eagles would recover a fumble by the Titans as the end of the third quarter, but would fumble themselves on the first play of the fourth quarter, giving control back to the Titans.
Brion Youngs would intercept a North Oconee Pass with less than ten minutes left to play, giving the Eagles possession on their own 22-yard line.
But the Eagles could still find no traction against the Titans, as they went on to win 30-0.
Up next, the Eagles will head to Elbert County to face the Blue Devils at the Granite Bowl on Friday. Kick off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
