The Mill Creek volleyball team improved to 9-4 Tuesday with wins over Grayson and Dacula.
The Lady Hawks outscored Grayson 25-14 in the first game and 25-18 in the second.
Mill Creek also beat rival Dacula High School 2-0. The Lady Hawks won the first game 25-18 and edged the Lady Falcons 26-24 in the second game of the match.
Mill Creek assistant coach Beth Guthrie said turnout for the Dacula game was great.
“The fans were awesome and the girls were pumped up,” she said. “It was a fantastic sight to see.”
The only disappointment of the night came against Whitewater. Mill Creek won the first game 25-16, but lost the next two by scores of 19-25 and 13-25.
For the evening, Mo Simmons led Mill Creek with 18 kills and eight blocks. Ashley Jackson contributed 38 assists and four aces. Alyson White was credited with outstanding defensive play during all three matches.
The Lady Hawks next match is Thursday, September 4 at South Gwinnett High School. Matches begin at 4:55 p.m.
