Commerce Closes Season Wed.

After falling to Prince Avenue Christian last week, the Commerce Lady Tigers hope to end their regular season on a high note this week.

On Wednesday, the 3-7 Lady Tigers will close the regular season with a pairing against region foe Social Circle.

The Lady Redskins enter the game with a 4-5-region record, and 5-11 overall.

“This will be our fourth time playing them (this season),” said CHS head softball coach Pam Canup. “They won in the region game, while we beat them in both tournament games. Each game has been close.
We didn’t play very well the first game, but did well in the last two games, so maybe we can keep that up and come out on the winning side.”

The first pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Last Tuesday, the Lady Tigers faced number two ranked Prince Avenue Christian, a team that had bested them back in September 7-0.

Things got no better for Commerce this time around, as the Lady Wolverines again blanked the Lady Tigers, this time with a final of 9-0.

Beth Pritchett started the game on the mound, while freshman Savannah Barnett closed.

Drea Mathis had two hits, while Jessika Kyle and Jessica Parkerson also contributed hits.
