While last week’s game at Habersham didn’t go as hoped, the Madison County Red Raiders are back on the gridiron this week hosting a team that is all about pressuring the attack.
Friday night is the Red Raiders taking on the Wildcats in the sixth week of the season.
The Apalachee Wildcats are 3-1 coming into Friday night having already faced three of the same teams as Madison County. Apalachee has defeated Habersham and Salem, but fell to Flowery Branch. After last week’s 44-14 defeat, the Red Raiders have lost to each of those teams. By a straight numbers game on paper, Apalachee would appear to be the team to bet on. However, Madison County is not out of the running.
“[Apalachee] is a Wing-T offense and an eight-man front philosophy defensively, but as soon as I say that they will get in a 4:3 quick as anybody,” coach Randell Owens said. “They like to pressure you and to attack. They will come after you and force the issue.”
