Banks County’s defense this season has been looking strong, even during the team’s one loss to rival East Jackson.

The Leopard defense has seen a big improvement since last season. Several players, including Matthew Patton and Justin Fincannon made double digits in the last game against Athens Christian. Kenny Langston has three sacks on the year and will be looking to add more on Friday night.

The Leopard offense has obviously improved from last season, and Armstrong is expecting the boys to keep it improving as Banks County starts into the region games.

For Banks County, it is the mental attitude that the coaching staff has to keep an eye on. Armstrong said on several occasions that Banks County can play yard-for-yard against any team in the region, but the players have to keep their heads high and continue to fight from the first whistle to the final second.

The Leopards’ 3-1 record heading into the game is a big confidence booster for the team and with the expected turnout of fans high at Friday’s game, Banks County should have a strong home field advantage.

Key offense players for the Leopards have been QB Harrison Dale, Dean Ewing and Marquaze Maddox. Dylan Lackey and Jeremy Greenway are also two boys to keep an eye out for on the field.

Banks County kicks off region play Friday night at home at 7:30 p.m.
