Lady Leopards pick up 6-2 win over Rabun

Game time is set for 5 p.m. Senior recognition will be held after the game.

On Tuesday, the Lady Leopards defeated Rabun County in a 6-2 showing.

The breakout inning for Banks County was in the bottom of the fourth. Banks County was tied 2-2 with Rabun and Sara Holloway opened at bat.

Holloway hit a solid double, and Toni Mullins came in to run for her. Next at bat, Entrekin hit a single and made it to second base as Rabun overthrew the ball to the base.

With a runner on third and second, Lexi Goodwin hit a solid single to drive in both runners. Madison Franklin would join her on base after a single. Goodwin and Franklin scored as Taylor Kennedy hit a single for the two RBIs.

With Banks ahead 6-2, it fell to the defense to hold off Rabun for the remainder of the game.

On the mound, Harris pitched a complete game for four strikeouts, two walks, and allowing five hits for two earned runs.

Covering first base, Pickens made several tags. In the outfield, it was a top of sixth, diving catch by Morgan Cox which spurred a cheer from the coaches and the Leopards’ dugout and, “Are you kidding me,” from the Rabun batter.
